Mynydd y Gwair Update – February 2013
We are writing to update you on the latest position as regards the proposed Mynydd y Gwair Wind Farm development, and the latest planning application for it.
The planning meeting to decide whether Swansea City and County Council will oppose this development is to take place on Thursday the 7th of February 2013 @ 4 - 5:00pm at the Civic Centre, Oystermouth Road, Swansea.
We are asking people to come along to the public gallery to support us on the day.
For those of you not wanting to drive into Swansea, there will be vehicles available to offer lifts from the Village Hall in Felindre.
We will be leaving from the Village Hall in Felindre at 2:45pm.
We hope to hold a little rally outside the Civic Centre at approximately4:00pm
Many thanks once again for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Let’s show the council how we feel about our beloved landscape and hope we are successful in saving it!

Save Our Common Mountain Environment known as “SOCME” was set up in 2003 to do exactly as the name applies.
It is a community group made up of people who live and work around Mynydd Y Gwair, it has gathered tremendous support in the last ten years both locally nationally and internationally, as it tries to give the argument to save these beautiful surroundings and preserve for posterity.

We rejoiced with people's victory against the Crown Estate Windfarm at Llanllwni but we also noticed how this people's victory in Wales was ignored by Nationalists and the Left who are still continue acting as shock troops for this corporate scam.
